I am an established Carpenter & Joiner based in Cholesbury near Chesham, Buckinghamshire. I have over 30 years experience, including an apprenticeship with a local firm and City & Guilds qualifications.
My services are of the highest quality, working with the customer to understand their requirements and ideas and advice on design to achieve complete satisfaction. I cover all aspects of carpentry and joinery including small building work and extensions, new kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, bespoke wardrobes and all other custom joinery. When required I work closely with other trades to provide a complete service from start to finish. I mainly work in the Chesham, Tring, Berkhamstead, Wendover area, but I'm also able to work far further afield than just within Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire.

We have used Matthew Brown since building our house in 2005. He helped us with much of the carpentry working alongside our other builder and particularly when working on our fairly complex roof. At that time our architect commented to us that the roof was built by a very skilled craftsmen. We have since used him for all subsequent carpentry needs and he has always done a fantastic job for us.
In 2017 he project managed our extension and we were extremely impressed with how well co-ordinated this was. Matthew kept us informed throughout as to which trades would need to come in and when. He organised it all for us and was able to call upon an extensive list of extremely professional tradesmen of various skills. The end result was completed on time, on budget and was exactly what we had hoped for. Matthew is a very tidy builder, he takes enormous pride in his work and is extremely professional. He is very good at coming up with different solutions to problems and is always easy to get hold of. We recommended him to friends of ours and they too were happy with his workmanship. Matt completed a small studio extension for us recently. At the outset he worked with the architect to implement practical cost effective solutions to his proposals and organised the whole build. The tradespeople used were highly proficient, and the build was completed on time and in budget. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone needing an honest, reliable builder who can be thoroughly relied on.

In February this year, Matthew built cupboards under our stairs to give us much more storage space than before. We now have two large compartments with doors. The other two smaller spaces are pull out drawers which are shelves for shoes.
Matthew worked on the design to give us maximum storage space. The result is a very pleasing addition which makes for a much improved and accessible area in the house which also looks good in the hallway.
We were very pleased with Matthew's preparation and workmanship, he was quick completing the work, caused the minimum of disruption to us whilst he was in the house. He is very tidy, cleans up every day and is really friendly and helpful.Bob & Liz Okey
